King’s Square Post Office is an essential community service here in our city centre, but its future is under threat.

This service goes beyond just posting letter- they are a lifeline for many, in particular for elderly and other vulnerable residents who rely on it for banking, paying bills and accessing government services.

Despite this, the Post Office have confirmed that it is at serious risk of closure.

I am fighting to ensure a future for this vital community service- join me by signing our petition and sending a message to the Post Office.

I met with Neil Brocklehurst, Acting CEO of the Post Office, to express my concerns about the closure and try to understand the situation from their perspective.

Alex McIntyre and

As well as meeting with representatives from the Post Office, I’ve met with the Parliamentary Under Secretary of State (Department for Business and Trade) Gareth Thomas MP.

Gareth is the Minister responsible for the Post Office, so it was really good to talk to him about what a vital community service the Kings Square branch provides.

He was keen to stress the government’s ambition to keep as many branches open as possible. I will continue to campaign to ensure the Kings square branch is saved.
